CHARLESTON, Ill. (WCIA) -- The Charleston Police Department arrested a man after he allegedly stole over $1,000 worth of items from Walmart, while he was already facing multiple other charges for unrelated crimes.
Department officials said in a news release on Facebook that officers responded to the store on Oct. 14 for a report of a retail theft. 47-year-old Sean K. Beck was seen on video exiting Walmart without "making any attempt" to pay for his items, they said.
Police were able to take Beck into custody without incident. He was detained in the Coles County Jail for "continuing to commit offenses" while on pre-trial release for multiple different cases. Officials said he was already facing charges of possession of methamphetamine, obstructing justice, burglary and driving on a revoke
