A third youth has been charged with first-degree murder in the stray-bullet fatal shooting of JahVai Roy, 8, in August.

Toronto Police responded on Aug. 16 at 12:27 p.m. after gunshots were reported in the Martha Eaton Way and Trethewey Dr. area of North York.

Police said officers arrived at the scene and found an eight-year-old boy in his residence who had been shot by a stray bullet while sleeping alongside his mom. Life-saving measures were performed and the victim was taken to a hospital via an emergency run, where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators identified three suspects and previously announced the arrest of two of them.
