Nutrition influencer who died post-birth was a ‘lighthouse in the storm’

A Melbourne nutritionist and influencer who died shortly after giving birth has been remembered as a deeply caring and generous woman.

Stacey Warnecke, known to her 19,000 followers online as NaturalSpoonfuls, suffered an “unforeseen and extremely rare complication” following the delivery of her first child in a home birth, her husband Nathan Warnecke said in a post on social media.

Stacey, who developed “low tox” recipes and shared them online, was rushed to hospital but could not be saved. The couple had been married for less than a year.

“I knew Stace for 9 amazing years, she was the light of my life and the reason I got up in the morning,” Nathan said.
