NORFOLK, Va. — Drivers traveling near the Norfolk side of the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel (HRBT) should prepare for an overnight closure that could impact their commute this week.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is scheduled to fully close the Willoughby Bay Bridge in both directions starting as early as Thursday morning. The closure will last from midnight until 4 a.m. and will affect the section of Interstate 64 between 4th View Street and 15th View Street.

During the four-hour closure, westbound drivers will be detoured off I-64 at the 4th View ramp. They will be directed along West Ocean View Avenue and can re-enter the interstate at the 15th View on-ramp.
