The candidates for Cedar City Council discuss jobs, housing and events as residents receive their mail-in ballots.
Incumbents Ron Riddle and R. Scott Phillips, along with newcomers Kathy Long and Waldo Galan, will compete for two City Council seats in the Nov. 4 general election. Phillips received the most votes in August's primary with 2,955 out of 4,278 ballots cast. Galan netted 1,502, Riddle received 1,500 and Long got 893, St. George News reported .
Cedar City News spoke with Phillips and Long about their reasons for running and stances on various issues. Galan and Riddle could not be reached for comment.
