A widespread rain system moved through Michigan this weekend. Here are the rain totals from the entire weekend.

Let’s start with the big picture of rainfall estimates from the NWS doppler radar network. In a rain system without hail, these estimates actually give a more accurate picture of rainfall than a sparse rain gauge network.

The yellow shaded areas had between two inches and three inches of rain in the past few days.

Southwest Lower Michigan received a much needed solid one-inch to three-inch rain.

The Detroit area in far southeast Lower Michigan didn’t even receive an inch of rain. The rainfall amounts did ramp up in the Ann Arbor area, Oakland County, the Flint area, Saginaw, Bay City and the Thumb.
