Orchard Park, N.Y. — Buffalo Bills 2025 first-round draft pick Maxwell Hairston took another step toward his season debut on Monday as the team designated him to return from injured reserve, opening his 21-day practice window.

Hairston sustained a right lateral collateral knee sprain while going through an individual drill on the sixth day of Bills training camp in July.

The 22-year-old cornerback has been working off to the side during practices the past few weeks. He first appeared off to the side at practice on Sept. 24 in a heavy-duty knee brace. Hairston was doing more lateral and change of direction work the past two weeks.
