Thousands of dollars worth of psilocybin products were seized in a raid of an east-end magic mushroom dispensary last week — the second one police have conducted in as many months.

Hamilton police say Shroomyz at 1353 Main St. E. is now “shut down” following the Oct. 17 raid, which led to the discovery of more than three kilograms of psilocybin products worth an estimated $30,000.

One man — a 24-year-old employee behind the counter who unsuccessfully tried to flee before being arrested — was charged with possession of psilocybin for the purpose of trafficking.

Police said a customer logbook recording daily sales was also discovered at the shop.
