After 19 years, John Luciano to retire as Manteo High Principal in January
The Dare County Schools (DCS) has confirmed that Manteo High School Principal John Luciano will retire on Jan. 2 after nearly two decades in that position.
DCS Public Information Officer Hannah Nash said that Luciano notified the administration of his retirement on Sept. 22 and the DCS posted a job listing for that position on Sept. 26. The retirement was initially reported by the Outer Banks Insider.
According to his bio, Luciano has been in education for over 40 years. He was born on Long Island, NY in 1949 and graduated from St. Dominic High School. Following high school, he attended Long Island University, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics in 1970 and a Master’s in Applied Mathematics in 1972.
