Nanaimo RCMP have arrested a man from Duncan on suspicion of prowling.

According to an RCMP news release, David Robert Hope, 52, has been in custody since he was arrested Thursday, Oct. 16.

Police were called when an unknown man was seen outside a home in south Nanaimo allegedly trying to open an exterior window and committing an indecent act. The homeowner called police who arrested the suspect at a location near the home.

The B.C. Prosecution Service approved charges related to the alleged indecent act and breaking and entering. The accused will remain in custody leading up to a scheduled appearance in provincial court in Nanaimo on Thursday, Oct. 23.
