FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO) — A suspected Freeport drug dealer led pursuing officers on a chase when they arrived at his home to arrest him on Monday afternoon.

According to Freeport Police, the Emergency Response Team went to a residence in the 600 block of E. Winneshiek Street around 12:22 p.m. to serve a search warrant, and spotted the suspect, 49-year-old David Thurman, leaving the property in a silver Chevrolet Yukon.

Police said Thurman led officers on a pursuit that circled the area and eventually ended back near the house, where the pursuit ended and Thurman was taken into custody.

Authorities said 33 grams of cocaine and ammunition were found in the search.

Thurman was charged with unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon and possession with intent to deliver.
