ALABASTER, Ala. ( WBRC ) - More shopping and dining options are coming to Highway 119 in Alabaster.

“We’re trying to create an environment where folks will want to stay in Alabaster,” said City Administrator Brian Binzer.

At the corner of Thompson Road and Highway 119, the city is building a new recreation center and library.

Right next door, 3.5 acres of land is set to become a shopping district with outdoor dining and hangout spaces.

The city administrator told WBRC the property will soon be deeded over to the same Auburn developer responsible for bringing shops to Hoover’s Stadium Trace Village.
