CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A plea from a 9-year-old boy, hoping to get his bike back after police say it was stolen from his home in Charleston, was answered.

“It was just like my life was about to go 1% to -300,” Atlas Flack said. “Every time I ride on my bike, it feels like I’m taking another step into reality.”

Atlas’ father, Adam Flack, said he posted to social media to get his son’s bike back, despite having no hope.

But then Flack said support poured in from around the community..

“It was really awesome, I got phone calls, messages!” he said.

After formally reporting the theft to the Charleston Police Department, within a couple days officers found the bike and arrested the person who stole it.

“That’s absolutely what makes this job worth it,” Cpl. Brent Foster said.
