PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - A Peoria meat company is apologizing after sprinklers automatically activated Saturday during the No Kings protest near their store on War Memorial Drive.

The company said their sprinkler system automatically activated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and was turned off within a few minutes after they were notified. Alwans also said they didn’t anticipate the rally would extended as far as it did, reaching their store.

The company also dispelled the rumors on Reddit and Facebook that the four men seen on the roof of the store were hired security - they were two employees, the owner and a close friend of the owner, taking their own photos.

Co-owner Brian Alwan took to WMBD Radio’s Greg and Dan Monday morning to also dispel the social media rumors. He said he was next door
