PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - A Chicago-area man charged in a shooting in a Bradley University residence hall allegedly carried a handgun with 30 rounds of ammunition, prosecutors said in court on Monday.
The detention hearing for 19-year-old Edward Traywick, Jr. of Lansing will resume Tuesday in Peoria County Court.
Traywick is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and reckless discharge of a firearm, both Class 4 felonies, after a woman was shot in the abdomen in Geisert Hall.
It was revealed in court that a Bradley student left the dorm room and heard a loud noise.
Surveillance video reportedly shows Traywick carrying the victim afterward. They were among four people in a car, presumably taking the victim to the hospital, investigators said.
