A man has been charged with murder after the suspicious disappearance of a man from near Toowoomba in Queensland.

Detectives charged a 45-year-old Crows Nest man with the murder of a 48-year-old Hampton man in Southport yesterday.

He will appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.

Police have established crime scenes at a property in Hampton, as well as a property in Cressbrook Creek.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
