DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A road project on Duluth’s hillside is now complete after a decade of planning.

The section of road that reopened to the public Monday is North Sixth Ave. East and East Ninth Street in Duluth’s central hillside neighborhood.

10 years ago, concerns were brought up regarding the busy intersection. From advocating, to public input, to planning details; project leaders celebrated the new adjustments to the road.

Sixth Ave. East used to be an old highway system and created many safety hazards for residents and drivers.

The goal with reconstruction is to reduce those hazards.
