CLAREMONT, N.H. (ABC22/FOX44) - Two lifelong Claremont residents and business leaders have given $1 million to the Valley Regional Hospital to help build a new medical office building, the hospital announced Monday.

The gift is reportedly the largest single donation in the history of the more-than-a-century-old hospital. The building will be named after those who helped fund it, as the Michael and Sheila Satzow Health Center.

"We’ve been fortunate to build our life in Claremont, and we believe deeply in supporting the institutions that strengthen our community," said Michael Satzow.

According to a hospital spokesperson, the new building will be easier to access for patients with difficulties getting around, with more room for care and treatment.

Construction is expected to be complete
