PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two men are in custody after police received reports of gunshots in Salem early Monday morning.

Salem Police responded to the 4000 block of Commercial Street at 3:40 a.m. following reports of gunfire, according to a press release from the agency.

When they arrived, they located two men. One of them produced a firearm, and police engaged in a physical struggle with them before taking both in, according to a press release.

Christopher Alan Stone, 19, and Alexander Salgado-Maya, 22, both of Salem, were booked into Marion County Jail on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and other firearms-related charges.

Salgado-Maya also had two felony arrest warrants for charges of burglary and theft. He was arraigned Monday afternoon. Stone is set to
