WHEATON, Ill. (WLS) -- Three suburban men have been arrested and charged with trying to impersonate police officers.

Jonathan Capp, 22, of Wheaton; Andrew Knight, 24, of Darien; and Cole Sarros, 26, of Woodridge appeared in DuPage County court Monday morning.

According to the complaint, they had agreed to "dress like peace officers" and each wore a tactical or ballistic vest.

The men each possessed firearm ammunition without a Firearm Owners Identification card, the complaint said. Several other items were found in their vehicle, including flash bangs and lighter fluid, officials said.

Prosecutors say they were planning to go to political protests on Saturday.
