MARPLE — It felt right that Michelle Eburuoh was the one to finish it Monday night.

The senior middle blocker and reigning Daily Times Player of the Year slammed the door on Cardinal O’Hara’s tightly contested 3-0 sweep of Archbishop Carroll in Monday’s Catholic League semifinals.

From the first serve, Eburuoh had the Lions rolling. She was a force at the net, blocking everything in sight and crushing kills. Behind her dominance, O’Hara jumped out to an 11-1 lead in the opening set.

About an hour later, it was Eburuoh again, this time at the service line for match point. Her serve barely cleared the tape, but the ball dropped over the net and hit the floor.
