LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is gearing up to release pheasants onto 13 state game/wildlife areas throughout Michigan -- except for Rose Lake State Game Area, the site of a deadly mid-sized twinjet crash.
The DNR says the choice to pause scheduled pheasant releases at Rose Lake was due to safety.
The state game area will remain open to the public, but the DNR urges visitors to avoid the affected area until investigators leave -- which they expect to be later this week.
