AKRON, Ohio — A Summit County jury convicted an Akron man Tuesday of murder and other charges in connection with a fatal stabbing in 2024 .
Dareeque Dorman, 37, was found guilty of one count of murder, two counts of felonious assault and one count of tampering with evidence, according to county prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich.
Gregory McMullen, 36, of Akron, died in the stabbing in May 2024 at his home on the 800 block of Lindsay Avenue in the Firestone Park neighborhood. Dorman was at McMullen’s home for a social gathering.
Dorman and McMullen became involved in a verbal altercation when Dorman took out a knife and stabbed McMullen in the face, chest, and back, killing him. A portion of the attack was recorded by a witness.
