DETROIT, MI–– The Detroit Lions were back in black for a primetime matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, Oct. 20.

With an injury-plagued secondary, the Lions’ defense showed up and out, holding a red-hot Bucs offense, and MVP-hopeful Baker Mayfield to just nine points.

On the offensive end, running back Jahmyr Gibbs finished 218 total yards and two touchdowns.

The Lions defeated the Bucs, 24-9.

The NFC-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers were 5-1 going into the game.

The Detroit Lions had four wins, sandwiched between two tough losses to the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs.

Detroit (5-2) heads into a bye week next week, while Tampa Bay (5-2) heads to New Orleans to face the Saints (1-6).
