EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Downtown Coaches Club presented its annual Edward R. Vandervoort Memorial Award to former Spartan running back Todd “T.J.” Duckett on Monday evening.

The Vandervoort Award has been presented since 1953 to an athletic leader in this community who exemplifies community engagement for the finest things in athletic endeavors.

Duckett did not know he would be receiving the award, and attended the event believing that he was there to talk about his place in the MSU-Michigan rivalry, and the impact of his last-second touchdown catch to beat the Wolverines in 2001.
