NORFOLK, Va. — A Norfolk business owner is speaking out after she said she was a victim of a larceny on Oct. 5.
Ashley Branton told 13News Now she felt violated after she said a man was watching her from across the street and moved in to steal from her, just after she got out of her car, in her driveway.
Just after 2 p.m., Branton returned home with cash earnings of more than $700 in her purse.
The thief can be seen on Ring footage as he took the purse right as she was walking back out to the car at her home in the Riverview community of Norfolk.
“It gives me chills talking about it. The part that freaked me out is that I saw him watching me. For any woman or anybody, it’s creepy," said Branton.
It's a crime, she said, that has harmed her, emotionally and also financially.
