TAOS COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – KRQE News 13 has received video showing the moments the Taos County Sheriff's Office responded to a man trapped in the Rio Grande Gorge and the frustration felt by first responders when they realized that he climbed in there on purpose.

On October 10, multiple Taos agencies responded to a call at the gorge about a man who reportedly fell from a ledge. Casey Waldman, 54, was stuck on a ledge after climbing down in search of hot springs. Waldman was upset after he wasn't able to climb out and was stuck there for hours. "I could swear that there was a trail that led down to the hot springs that I thought were right about here," said Waldman.

Due to the rough terrain and steep drop-off off it took first responders minutes to figure out a way to get him out. "Human
