Asrani death : Veteran actor Govardhan Asrani, one of Indian cinema’s most beloved comedians, passed away on Monday , October 20, at the age of 84, following a prolonged illness. His final rites were held at the Santacruz Crematorium in Mumbai, where family and friends gathered to pay their last respects.

Asrani, best remembered for his unforgettable role as the quirky jailer in Sholay, left behind a cinematic legacy spanning over five decades and more than 350 films. Known for his effortless comic timing and expressive performances, he became a household name in Hindi cinema, seamlessly shifting between humour, satire, and emotional depth.
