Former Red Sox reliever Eduard Bazardo was a revelation for the Mariners this season and pitched in big spot after big spot during their run to Game 7 of the ALCS . On the biggest stage, though, he faltered.

Bazardo gave up the game-winning three-run homer to George Springer that sent the Blue Jays to the World Series for the first time in 32 years with a 4-3 win over Seattle in Game 7 on Monday night. With two men on and one out with the Mariners leading, 3-1, in the seventh, Bazardo relieved starter Bryan Woo and left a 96 mph sinker over the plate for Springer, who launched it 381 feet into the Rogers Centre stands . Toronto held onto the one-run lead and clinched the American League pennant for the first time since 1993.
