A man suspected of stealing a van and leading law enforcement officers on a chase was stuck and killed by at least one vehicle in Highland Park Monday evening after crossing over the center divider of the Arroyo Seco (110) Parkway.
Officers began pursing the suspect on streets in the downtown Los Angeles area shortly before 9 p.m. Monday shortly before he entered the Arroyo Seco Parkway in Chinatown.
Minutes into the pursuit on the freeway, the driver exited the van near the Avenue 43 exit.
Multiple television stations reported he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Arroyo Seco Parkway will be closed in both directions in the vicinity of the end of chase until at least 5 a.m. Tuesday, ABC7 reported.
