LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Construction for the Las Vegas Grand Prix is causing traffic delays one month before the November races as crews are transforming the Strip into a racetrack.
Track barriers installation on Koval is underway, closing two lanes overnight this week from the F1 pits to the Sphere. The construction is part of preparations for the race scheduled for November 20-22.
Metal structures for F1 track lighting are now visible along the Strip where cars will race. Three lanes will close at midnight Monday through Friday for the rest of the month as crews work on track lights.
In front of the Bellagio, two traffic lanes are closed 24 hours a day as the Bellagio Fountain Club structure is completed. The sidewalk is also off-limits to pedestrians.
