The Kerala High Court on Tuesday decided to watch Malayalam film ‘Haal’ on October 25 in a matter over the Central Board of Film Certification’s (CBFC) proposal to grant an ‘A’ certificate to the movie.
Advocate Saneej ES, who is representing the filmmakers, confirmed the development with The Indian Express and said Justice VG Arun would watch the movie at around 7 pm on October 25.
The row stems from the filmmakers challenging the CBFC’s directions for the deletion or modification of several lines of dialogue and scenes, including one about eating beef biryani. Even the Catholic Congress moved against the Shane Nigam-starrer film on the ground that it hurt religious sentiments.
Lines of dialogue that the CBFC wants removed have references to “dhwaj pranamam”, a salutation associate
