Just what is the ever ambitious Michelle Wu up to?
It’s a question some Democrats both inside and outside of Boston are asking these days as Wu cruises to a second mayoral term with no opposition. She crushed opponent Josh Kraft in the September preliminary, driving him out of the race and giving her a lot of unexpected clout and free time.
Wu has shown some signs of trying to meddle in the City Council at-large race so her allies prevail and enemies lose, but she might be on to bigger plans than that.
Speculation is swirling about whether Wu has an interest in running for the U.S. Senate seat now occupied by 79-year-old Democrat Ed Markey, who already has a primary challenger.
