Is football the best high school sport?

I've covered high school sports for five years, and nothing matches the spectacle of football.

My affinity for the game began at a young age , and back then, NFL and college action felt like the pinnacle. Why wouldn't you be drawn to the best athletes in the world?

It wasn't until after college, when I began covering high school sports, that I discovered the magic of Friday nights. Despite all the hours I'd spent watching professionals, I had never experienced this kind of energy.
