A major UK supermarket chain is set to shut down more than 100 outlets, including stores, cafés, florists and pharmacies in a huge blow to customers, according to reports. Morrisons will witness the shuttering of daily outlets, cafés, florists and pharmacies nationwide, stretching from Kent in south-eastern England to Somerset and Devon in the west, and extending as far north as Scotland.

Morrisons ranks as Britain's fifth-largest supermarket retailer and in 2021 operated 497 supermarkets spanning England, Wales and Scotland, plus one outlet in Gibraltar. During that same period, the company had 110,000 staff members on its payroll and catered to approximately 11 million shoppers weekly.
