The Stadium Authority recently reported that they signed contracts for building a new Aloha Stadium, but they have told the public very little about it. It hasn’t even released an architectural drawing of the stadium. Apparently, not enough specifications were provided in the contracts to even draw a picture of it. As a result, we taxpayers are paying big money for something that we don’t know much about.

The Stadium Authority also faces a funding predicament. The legislation appropriating $350 million for the stadium has a June 30, 2024, deadline for spending the money. The state comptroller claims to have extended the deadline, citing an internal manual of financial procedures. However, the manual is not law.
