After adopting a pup from a " golden retriever rescue," a dog owner believed for years that it was the breed of their dog—then a DNA test revealed the truth about the pet.
In a Reddit post shared on Wednesday under the username u/ash3ss, the canine's owner shares pictures of their pup, a medium-sized, yellow, long-haired pup, that resembles a golden retriever, but couldn’t be further from it. "People often ask if she’s a golden retriever …" the poster wrote in the post, as a screenshot of the DNA test results showed the actual breed of the pup.
The poster’s beloved golden retriever, turned out to be 49.9 percent Siberian husky, 26 percent Weimaraner, 22.9 percent Great Pyrenees, and 4.2 percent German shepherd.
"We even adopted her from a golden retriever rescue!" the poster adds.
