WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) - A juvenile was arrested on Sunday morning for alleged threats against Case Junior High School in the Watertown City School District.

According to the Watertown Police Department, they arrested a juvenile around 11 a.m. Sunday morning for alleged threats to "shoot up" Case Junior High.

The arrest is in connection with an alleged threatening message sent to the Watertown High School staff. Authorities said they determined the message was sent to "play a joke on their friend."

The youth was charged with third-degree falsely reporting an emergency and making a threat of mass harm. The juvenile was issued an appearance to report to the Jefferson County Probation Department.
