A man who killed a dad in Airdrie while on bail has been jailed for murder. ‌

Brandon McLachlan pleaded guilty to s tabbing Jamie Lucas to death while out on bail for a knife crime days before Christmas in December 2024. ‌

The 22-year-old man has now been sentenced to 18 years and six months for the murder of the 33-year-old man. ‌

On Sunday, December 22 last year, Jamie was on a night out at a club in Stirling Street, Airdrie .

He was attacked by McLachlan following an argument between the two men, which had taken place earlier. ‌

Jamie was taken to the hospital but died a short time later. McLachlan was then arrested and charged in connection with his death.
