The Baltimore City Council is considering a bill that would change the zoning code to impose regulations on dollar stores.
The bill would require them to seek permission from the city’s zoning board to operate and set new standards for their operation.
Baltimore City Councilwoman Odette Ramos, D-District 14, and City Council Vice President Sharon Green Middleton, D-District 6, introduced the bill in response to concerns about poor management, pricing and the proximity of dollar stores to one another in some neighborhoods.
