Several weather warnings have been issued across the country this week as the Met Office warns that potentially "damaging winds" could hit the UK.

Yellow weather warnings for wind and rain have been issued for Thursday (23 October) across parts of England and Wales, with the Met Office suggesting winds could reach up to 75 mph in some areas over the course of the day.

Weather warnings for rain are currently in place from the beginning of the day on Thursday, lasting until 9 pm, while wind weather warnings are in force from 9 am on Thursday until midnight.

Forecasters have suggested that an area of low pressure moving towards the UK could bring a "heavy swathe of rain" on Thursday with gusts of wind of 45-55 mph expected widely, reaching up to 75 mph in some areas.
