A major crowd chaos erupted at Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s public event, where at least 13 people, including women and children, fell ill due to suffocation, dehydration, hypoglycemia, and mismanagement.

The incident took place during the Ashoka Jana Mana event at Kombettu Ground at Puttur on Monday.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah attended the event, organised by Puttur MLA Ashok Rai, to distribute plates and clothes to the public for Deepavali.

As per the instructions, the people were asked to gather at 9:30 am on Monday; however, it was reported that the food was not served till 3 pm.

The programme reportedly started late and concluded by 4 pm.
