In line with the decision taken during the Afghan Foreign Minister’s recent visit to New Delhi, India has restored its Technical Mission in Kabul to the status of a full-fledged Embassy of India in Afghanistan, effective immediately.
Earlier on October 10, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had announced that India’s Technical Mission in Kabul would be upgraded to a full-fledged Embassy of India.

Jaishankar had then reaffirmed India’s commitment to Afghanistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence, adding that closer cooperation between the two nations will bolster national development, regional stability, and resilience.
