Butter is a key ingredient in many dishes whether it's used in cooking or baking. With so many choices on the supermarket shelves we are usually spoilt for choice on what we decide to buy.
While we will all have our favourite brands to lather on toast or to add to eggs to give a velvety, rich texture, many will also pick up whatever is on offer and will happily try different offerings. Not many of us will take butter as seriously as professional chefs do.
Many, including Gordon Ramsay , are known for their use of butter in recipes to help enhance flavours. Often they will use butter to cook instead of vegetable or olive oil to add richness to dishes.
