Evergreen’s offense has leaned heavily on its passing game at times this season, and it’s easy to see why.

Sophomore quarterback Jayden Baum has taken another step forward as a second-year starter. His top two targets are a pair of Big 12 Conference football commits in wide receiver Terrance Saryon (BYU) and tight end Darren Schmitt (Arizona).

In Friday’s 41-21 win over Prairie , however, the Plainsmen saw how dangerous they can be with a complementary rushing attack. Senior Malukai Turner-Hodges tallied 126 rushing yards and four touchdowns, leading an Evergreen offense that found the end zone on all but two drives and punted just once to earn a key 3A Greater St. Helens League win.
