According to the Wall Street Journal , the Trump administration has quietly ordered federal workers to keep the demolition of the White House’s East Wing out of public view as construction crews begin clearing the site for a massive new ballroom funded by private donors.
According to several officials briefed on the directive, employees in nearby federal offices, including the Treasury Department, were instructed not to photograph or discuss the ongoing teardown, which began Monday morning.
