Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made a series of strong remarks while addressing public concerns over the ongoing protests surrounding the death of cultural icon Zubeen Garg.
Speaking to the media, Sarma said, “If I resign today, 50% of the protests will end immediately. And if Gaurav Gogoi is made Chief Minister, the remaining 50% will also stop.”
The Chief Minister asserted that the current agitation is not about seeking justice for Zubeen Garg. “This movement is not about giving justice to Zubeen,” he said.
Reflecting on the late singer’s fan base, Sarma observed that there is a clear difference between Zubeen’s true admirers and a section that emerged after his demise. “The fans who loved Zubeen during his lifetime were different. After his passing, a new group has emerged
