Brenda Strickland Covington, age 79, of Newnan, GA, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. She was under the compassionate care of hospice at Corinth Road Personal Care Home. Brenda was born on August 10, 1946, in Bulloch County, GA, to John Evers (J.E.) Strickland and Nell Hagan Strickland. She was preceded in death by her brothers Gerald and Daniel Strickland and her infant sister Barbara. She is survived by her sister, Linda Strickland Tillinger; sisters-in-law, Edna Strickland and Myrna Strickland; her beloved husband of 56 years, James Thomas "Tom" Covington; their daughter, Ellie Love Covington of Savannah, GA; and their son, Russell Thomas Covington (Allison Handley) of Newnan, GA.
