MASTIC BEACH, New York (WABC) -- A Long Island teen was arrested this week for allegedly selling cannabis gummies to a middle school student earlier this year.

That student then gave them to at least three other students who became sick.

It happened back in May at William Paca Middle School in Shirley.

The students ate the gummies on school grounds and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Suffolk Police say all four were sickened then transported to a local hospital after ingesting the gummies on school grounds.

On Tuesday, police announced they arrested 18-year-old Jahsheem Jones at his home in Mastic Beach.

He was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Jones was issued a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
