QUINCY (WGEM) - Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker cut the ribbon on the six year improvement project to the Illinois Veterans Home.

The Illinois Veterans Home celebrated the opening of their new and improved campus on Monday. Pritzker assisted in the ribbon cutting in the campus’ lobby.

“The Quincy Veterans Home has stood as a testament to Illinois’ dedication to taking care of our military heroes,” Pritzker explained.

Pritzker explained the construction project had been approved by both sides of the political aisle. Pritzker said it was important to work together to support veterans.

“People are celebrating this, whatever party they belong to,” Pritzker said.
